LUKE WHITE shoots commercial and editorial portraits, interiors and architecture for both print and web. He also undertakes private commissions. White is commissioned by designers and architects, international magazines and publishers.

BIOGRAPHY As a commercial photographer Luke White has published seven photography books on architecture and design and his work is featured in international magazines worldwide. Luke learnt photography first at his high school in Massachusetts and then as an assistant to fashion photographers (including Mark Le Bon, Mario Testino, Aurthur Elgort & David Seidner) in London, New York and Paris. In 1996 Luke settled in the UK and began shooting portraits, interiors and architecture. Luke’s portraits have been selected twice for the prestigious Taylor Wessing portrait award at the National Portrait Gallery. 

  1. ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE Since September 2019 Luke has been an Artist-in-Residence at the Re:Centre in Hammersmith London. He has used his residency to develop his interest shooting large format analogue photography - first exhibited at the Muse Gallery in Petersfield in 2018 - and to explore specialist printing techniques. BOOKS Luke has published seven large format photographic books including two on lighting with Sally Storey (Lighting Design International and John Cullen Lighting). In spring 2017 Thames and Hudson published Creative Living Country with Chloe Grimshaw, illustrating the homes of creatives across the UK. Luke's latest book written by ex Sotheby's Director James Stourton and published by Quarto in the fall of 2018, is the acclaimed British Embassies, A Diplomatic and Architectural History.
